Top Workout Gloves 2015

The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) conducted it’s annual survey of the top fitness trends for 2015.  What do you think made the cut?

How It Works

The ACSM electronically surveys thousands of Fitness Professionals within it’s database each year. Respondents were asked to rate their choices as either a fad or a trend. The survey does not attempt to evaluate exercise equipment, gym chains, hardware, software or other gimmicky “tools” like you might find on a late night infomercial.  (i.e. Tug Toner 😉

Top 3 Fitness Trends for 2015

1. Bodyweight Exercises.  Over the past 8 years of the survey bodyweight exercises have slowly moved up the list and in 2015 they finally hit the #1 spot!  Maybe all those pull ups and push ups your personal trainer had you do last year was really just preparing you for what’s to come.

2.  HIIT (high intensity interval training).  HIIT workouts would include Crossfit Workouts, bootcamp, or circuit training. Short intense bursts of exercise followed with minimal rest is a sure fire way to start melting away the fat and start revealing those chisled muscles you’ve been working so hard for.

3.  Certified Fitness Professionals.  As the world economy slowly climbs out of the recession, a record number of people decided to turn their passion for health and fitness into a career and from the looks of things this trend is going to continue.

Best Workout Gloves 2015

Heavy.com recently released it’s list of the top workout gloves for 2015 and if you’re reading this blog you probably aren’t surprised to learn that GymPaws® Lifting Grips snagged the #1 spot!  The minimalist and functional design of GymPaws® make it the perfect alternative to traditional workout gloves.  The “fad” crossfit gloves that are little more than a piece of nylon will be tossed in the trash before you have a change to give up on your New Year’s resolutions! Those spongy little grip pad lifting grips are sold by the dozen for a reason, because they don’t last more than a few workouts.

While it’s fun to read the lists and watch the trends, you have to make change to see change.  The best gym gloves in the world, or the most popular group fitness class in the city isn’t going to help you make lasting lifestyle changes.  That motivation has to come from within.

Here’s to a Happy and Healthy New Year!
