What Does Swolemate Mean One of the most frustrating patterns I saw with personal training clients over the years was those people that used their sessions merely as a motivation to get to the gym or to actually stick to their workout plans. There is certainly nothing wrong with that. However, I personally would rather work with a client who was driven to achieve specific goals and utilized my knowledge and expertise, versus one who just wanted a swolemate to keep them company or get them to the gym. The word swolemate is a slang term for workout buddy or gym partner. Swole became a popular term used to describe the "pump" you see (and get) from working out.
